About
Danz full body2.jpg

My name is Ted Danz, and I’m running for New York State Senate.

I started in business, founding Ted Danz Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. with just one employee - me. I built it from the ground up based on core principles like honesty, integrity, loyalty, and hard work. Today it is a successful business owned and operated by my sons that I'm proud of. But let’s be clear, success in building a small business does not come without challenges and unfortunately, many of those challenges now come from our elected leaders in Albany.

Out of touch Albany politicians continually implement disastrous policy after disastrous policy. Policies like bail reform have threatened the safety of our families, while their high taxes, overbearing regulations, and red tape have made it harder and harder for working families to pay their bills and put food on the table. I know it and my neighbors know it – New York State is becoming more dangerous, increasingly toxic for small business owners like myself, and a less desirable place to raise a family. Without a doubt, we are on the wrong track.

As a businessperson, I’ve seen first-hand how the disastrous policies produced by the Albany politicians make New York State one of the worst places to do business in our country. It’s not just me saying it, a recent Siena Poll found 2/3 of businesses owners say business conditions are worsening in New York, and 75% said they are having trouble recruiting for open jobs. To get us back on the right track, we need to put an end to one-party rule in our state’s capital and restore a balanced government. That’s why I’m running for Senate. I’m 76 years old, this is not a career move for me - I'm not a career politician like my opponent. I'm running to upend the status quo in Albany, and to reverse the disastrous policies that have put New York on the fast track to decline.

My life’s work has provided me with a front row seat to issues plaguing our community. I see people desperate for relief at the gas pump, in the groceries store, and with their rent and mortgages. I see families struggling to afford a dinner out or a show with their family, that have to worry about their safety while walking the streets. I see crime, and homelessness, and empty storefronts ignored by our government. I see the state failing our children in schools. I see people turning to Albany, looking for hope and receiving none from our elected leaders. We have to get back to having representation that cares about the people.

With your support, I can help turn our state around – together, we can cut the red tape and let our small businesses flourish, we can end the bail reform nightmare that makes our streets less safe, we can prevent NYC from sending illegal immigrants into our communities at our expense, we can fight for fair funding for our schools,  and we can put more money in middle class pockets by cutting onerous taxes and fees. As New York State Senator, I will represent you – not the Albany political establishment – and together, we can make New York a better place.

Press Release

Danz Rips Fahy for being “proud” of Bail Reform

Albany N.Y. State Senate Candidate Ted Danz (R-C, Altamont) has released a new ad running on electronic and social media, ripping Democrat candidate Pat Fahy for her continued support of the state’s failed bail reform law and refusal to acknowledge its connection to increased violent crime.

During an interview in June where she endorsed progressive Democrat District Attorney candidate Lee Kindlon, Fahy took the opportunity to reaffirm that she was “proud of her votes on bail reform.” Her astounding admission comes at a time when victims and their families are being forgotten while Fahy and her elitist left-wing colleagues continue to say, “let them eat cake.”

“Pat Fahy voted for the original bail reform bill and as a result many law-abiding citizens have been abused by the criminal element on our streets,” Danz said. “As the ad points out, level three sex offender Jamal Ali was charged with sexually assaulting an adult male with autism, after being released without bail. Another criminal killed a 6-week-old baby using methamphetamine - he was also released. This criminal coddling must end, and when I’m in the Senate I will fight to ensure it does.”

The initial ad buy will run on social media and electronic platforms and the campaign intends to spend at least $25,000 on this effort. We also expect to run this ad on television in even heavier rotation as we move into the final weeks of the campaign. “Pat Fahy is an ally of criminals over law-abiding citizens, illegal immigrants over taxpayers and New York City elites over upstate voters,” concluded Danz”. “I’m running to be a voice for those hard working upstaters who Albany insiders like Pat Fahy forgot a long time ago. The time for change is now, and we will not stop until Fahy and those like her are held accountable for the damage they have done.”

The New York State Senate’s 46th Senate District is a Senate district entirely encompassed within New York’s Capital Region.

It comprises parts of Albany and Schenectady Counties as well as all of Montgomery County. Across its cities, towns, and villages are a wide variety of communities. The 46th District encompasses large and medium cities like Albany and Amsterdam, suburbs like Bethlehem, Glenville, Guilderland, Rotterdam and rural areas like my home in Altamont. Many different interests are present across the district, ranging from academics and public-sector employees to blue-collar workers and farmers.

I will work to represent all people of the 46th District fairly, ensuring that no one locality is left behind in such a varied district.
